The Coalition is only as strong as its membership. Currently, over seventy-five organizations and over a hundred individuals have pledged their support to the work and mission of the Coalition. Becoming a member of the Coalition shows your strong support for advancing the health and well-being of the LGBT community and provides you with the opportunity to participate in setting the Coalition’s agenda and to receive technical assistance and reduced rates for all Coalition events. The Coalition holds an annual membership meeting. This meeting is traditionally held in Washington, DC in order to maximize our members’ voices on Capitol Hill and with federal agencies. Elections to the Board of Directions
The Board of Directors adopted the following process to govern this year’s election to its membership. The Coalition’s Governance Committee will provide direction and oversight to the nomination and election process. The current members of the committee are: JoAnne Keatley, Henia Handler, David Haltiwanger, Kaye Gooch, and Hutson Inniss (ex-officio member).
There are 6 seats open for election to the board of directors; the term of office for these seats begins January 1, 2011 and end on December 31, 2013. Due to the term limit provision of the Coalition’s bylaws, two of our current board members are not eligible for re-election.
