Special Announcement

July 9, 2010

The Board of the National Coalition for LGBT Health is saddened to announce the departure of our Executive Director, Rebecca Fox. “Over the last three years, Rebecca has grown the Coalition into the strong organization it is today. She not only quadrupled the size of the staff, but tripled our budget as well, and allowed us to expand our reach into Congress and the Administration,” said Board co-chair Wendy Stark, Executive Director of Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York. Board co-chair Hutson Inniss, Vice President at Tapestry Health in western Massachusetts, agreed, “Rebecca has been a tremendous force in the LGBT health movement.  I am confident that the Coalition will build on her achievements and continue to grow and flourish, and we will do so with deep gratitude for her leadership.”

Fox was responsible for guiding the Coalition through healthcare reform, increased data collection, and Healthy People 2020.  In addition, she represented the Coalition at numerous meetings with the Obama Administration and members of Congress. “I am humbled to have been a part of the Coalition, to have worked with such amazing health advocates, and to have been supported by such a smart and capable staff,” said Fox. “I look forward to continuing to support the Coalition’s work.”
Fox is leaving the Coalition to pursue personal projects, but will work with the Coalition to ensure smooth transition to her successor. A job posting will be available shortly.
